I will move my body everyday, I will eat healthy, I will get up when I fall down, I will not diet! That is part of Debra Mazda’s No Diet contract.
How many of us have stood on the scales and sighed, “tomorrow I am going on a diet”. Maybe it’s just something you say when you get on the scales, or maybe you are serious and tomorrow you do start a diet.
Ever feel like that? Dieting is not the answer, moving your body and eating healthy to provide your body with the nutrients it needs, is.
Since April of this year I have gained nearly 20 pounds. That is scary folks! I would get on the scales, feel depressed, barely eat anything for two days. “Reward myself” and eat to much… I had a pretty bad cycle going on there. The cause of my weight gain is now gone, but the weight is still there. So, I’m doing something new.
The month of October I will be joining 27 different women around the world to become a ShapelyGirl. We are not only reviewing Debra Mazda’s ShapelyGirl Fitness DVD’s but we will be putting the DVD’s and ourselves to the test.
This is not so much about loosing weight and looking like barbie (I mean, do you reeeeally want to look like that?) but about getting in shape and embracing the bodies God gave us.
I was sent a copy of the Let’s Get Moving DVD by ShapelyGirl Fitness. I plan on moving/grooving to it at least 3 times a week and eating healthy. I am committed to this thing! I am going to “break up” with my scales and only step on the thing once a week. That would be on Thursdays before I write my Friday post.
Stats: Weight~160 Goal~130? However, if I can tone up and lose a few inches I will be happy. Belly~40″ Thighs~34″ Hips~41″ The top of me needs to slim up a little too, but I am keeping those measurements to myself. At this point, I am thinking I really could use any prayers you wish to send my way. I get winded very easy and have extremely tight muscles.
Debra Mazda is my knight in shining armor (okay, not really, but you get the point). Her move first, diet second philosophy enabled her to go from the 300+ pound girl she was a healthy 160 pound ShapelyGirl. Debra recognizes that fitness comes in all sizes. If you want to read more of her testimony you can click here.
The DVD I am using is the Let’s Get Moving one, want a preview of what is going to be kicking my you-know-what? This link will take you to you tube where you can watch the promo trailer. Want to buy Let’s Get Moving for yourself? Try here. 🙂
Want to meet the other ladies on the crew? We have linked up our posts below. You can browse through and read any you wish. We are all shapes, sizes and ages. Your prayers for us will certainly be appreciated.
The rest of the journey. Week One, Fitness Friday~ ShapelyGirl Edition. Week 2. Fitness Friday, Am I getting Shapely? Week 3 Fitness Friday, Grrrrrrrrrrrr! Week 4 Final Check in.
This list is moderated. Please do not link up unless you are a part of the ShapelyGirl Fitness review crew.
Good for you! Nothing like telling the whole world about it on your blog, kind of puts the pressure on, are you going to do before and after pictures?
I can sympathize with the weight gain, since I hit the upper 30’s it just sticks!
Blessings,
Haha! yes it does! That and the review crew I am a part of, I will be really hanging my head in shame if I do not follow through.
quote “The top of me needs to slim up a little too, but I am keeping those measurements to myself.” Chuckle chuckle.
Haha! You know exactly what I mean silly!
I look forward to getting fit and healthy with you!
Ditto, thanks for creating the linkup 🙂
you go, Kendra! sometimes I even over-reward myself after exercising ;( I too am 160(ish), according to my BMI, i should be 130, but I’m just hoping to get to 150 😉
You go, Girl! Don’t give up. Even after a bad day or even week. Even if the scale doesn’t move in a downward trend. You will feel better.
Very exciting to be a part of this – I hope it works out very well for you. I am all about developing a lifestyle of regular physical activity and healthy eating, rather than dieting.
Dieting just doesn’t really work. Whole foods and exercise? Yes please!
You Go! I love how you say its “about getting in shape and embracing the bodies God gave us.” All glory to God for helping us through this fun “do & review”. You and I are doing the same DVD … I hope I can learn the steps but at least I am marching when I can! Great first post, looking forward to the next. Mine is at http://christianeveryday.com/index.php/shapelygirl-fitness-kickoff-review/. I even included a little vlog. Blessings to you dear.
You can do it!!! It’s really easy 🙂
