Not a long post today, or anything much of anything. But I hate the dentist office, ok, I hate all Dr.’s offices! lol Today I get to go stare that one in the face. No, I don’t get to leave with nice clean teeth and a clean feeling mouth.
I get to leave with a swollen, numb and cotton ball stuffed mouth. Yup, going to get those wisdom teeth out. You may be wondering why I haven’t done it sooner. Well, it has something to the effect of the fact that I am still considering a cancellation. 🙂
Yes, I know I am a big baby. But seriously, they are going to put me under! I mean think about it, while I am knocked unconscious, who knows what they may do? Sheesh, for all I know they could replace my spleen and appendix and who knows what all else.
Perhaps these guys aren’t dentists at all, but mad scientists. Oh my goodness! I could wake up and be a cat for all I know! Seriously, if I’m not back blogging by Monday, send out the swat team!
Ok, so maybe I’m over-thinking this one. I mean how bad can it be? I go in and they stick me with needles… AAAAAAAAAAAk!!!!!!!! I hate needles! And then they put me out, and do who knows what all to my one and only body. And then I wake up.
Uh oh, what if I wake up and act like this?
Praying for you that all will go smoothly. I cannot predict the future, but I’m fairly confident that you won’t turn into a feline. I you do, you could always sue and be set for life. But, in seriousness, I do hope that you aren’t in too much discomfort after the fact and the recovery time is short.
Can’t wait until you are back and realize it’s not that bad. Of course, you may think it is bad no matter what. I had all four of mine out, came home and had a big bowl of soup about two hours later. If you do however turn into some kind of FrankenKendra then we’ll know who to blame!
So sorry! Matthew had three wisdom teeth removed yesterday. One was easy. The bottom two required tools and prying! They were also infected, so he’s on meds for that. They were all through, but one was bothering him and had broken.
He’s getting along pretty good. He didn’t have them put him clear out and I think some people are bothered my the anesthesia.
Praying all goes really well for you!
Oh Kendra I’m so sorry and I hope it went well. I love my dentist, and I don’t mind cleaning but I too am a big baby when it comes to the work. I had 2 crowns last year and had to take Atavan and get the gas. I’d seriously rather have a baby than do that!
I am praying for you, I hope it all went well! I am wondering if you ever saw this video? http://youtu.be/LQD2y-ZL8s0?t=4s Between unicorns and papayas it makes me laugh! I was so afraid for my wisdom teeth to come out too, but the sooner the better, and after the surgery all the nerves should be gone and you should be on your way to a fast recovery!
Oh I hope you are feeling better today!!! Love you!
I saw this too late I think..or I would have said a prayer. I can still pray for you anyways though…for the recovery and stuff! I am the same as you on this home front. I bet I may even have you beat when it comes to my dentist anxiety! You see the last time I went to the dentist they did teeth impressions where you bite down on this metal cup tray thing and all this goo squishes down and goes like fills your whole mouth and practically chokes you haha (no but seriously it goes like all the way to the back of your throat). Well you really can’t swallow much or do anything..and have to sit still for several min. while it hardens. Well I think the lady forgot about me cause when she came back in it was STUCK and she couldn’t get it out. They didn’t want me to panic (as I couldn’t breathe through my mouth with that thing in there) so I hear them trying to play cool but whispering to each other while she goes and gets the other lady to try her hand at prying it off. She couldn’t get it to work either. Finally they got it off somehow (it only felt like they were going to yank all my teeth out). So yeah, I am really avoidant now and still haven’t had my “stupid teeth” (cause let’s face it-they aren’t smart if you don’t need em! so why do they call them wisdom?!) out either. Oh- and I also have never had more than a 500 mg. Tylenol for pain. And I only take something like that if I really really need it! Hope I at least made you laugh, and I hope you feel better sooN!
Hope it went well, Kendra!!! When I was 8mos pregnant, I had about 8-9 teeth removed, and they could only do local anestetic. I was able to enjoy milkshakes soon after, but…I don’t feel pain as well as one should, either 😉
I trust you are feeling much better Kay, I pray God grants you speedy and total recovery.
I hope everything went well. I was scared as well when I got mine out but it actually went really smoothly. I was a luck soul who didn’t even swell up. And they didn’t even put me under for it. They just numbed me. Hope you are feeling better.
