Today’s quick tip is how to cook pasta with out it sticking together. Nothing is worse than draining that pan of cooked pasta and finding clumps of pasta sticking together that didn’t get cooked through.
There is a very simple remedy for that.
Pour about a tablespoon of oil into your pan of water.
Lovely picture right?
Once the water starts boiling the oil mixes with the bubbles on top and as you slide your pasta into the pan, the pasta receives a nice little skim of oil and will not stick together! Yay! Then you just cook according to package directions.
What is your favorite kind of pasta?

Hello, my name is Kendra. I am married to an amazing young man
named Jason, whom I lovingly call hubby when I’m writing. The only way I could ever explain our relationship is to use words like: crazy, silly, funny… well you get the point. He’s perfect for me!

My grandmother always did that when she made pasta; it’s a great tip and it totally works! My favorite pasta is mostaccioli (or moustache-ioli as my husband calls it) with pretty much any kind of sauce on it

Moustache-ioli? Now that’s funny folks!
Great tip and yes it does work well!

Angel Hair spaghetti is the most common pasta I buy. I buy several pounds at a time because it usually takes about 2# to feed my crew.

2#s! You guys must really like pasta!
yes they do. LOL! Most times there is a little left over, but there are times they eat it all.

glad to see we are swap sponsors again this month!
I would not do this for pasta. It will keep it from sticking together, but it will also leave a coating on the pasta that will prevent the sauce from clinging to it as much.
What I do to prevent clumping is to use a very large pot full of water, and have the water at a really hard boil before I add the pasta, and stir it as soon as I dump the pasta in. Then with occasional stirring while it’s cooking, I’ve never had problems with the pasta clumping up.
I know butter doesn’t work very well but haven’t ever had problems with olive oil. And you are right about bringing the water to a hard boil and then stirring the pasta, but I tend to make things as easy on myself as possible
Chances are if I have pasta on the stove, then there are at least to other pans going as well.
I love all kinds of pasta! It’s not the hubs’ favorite so we don’t have it often, but when I can squeeze it in I do!
