Today I have our lovely Mary and Martha Sponsor here sharing her “I played a Trick on My Husband” story. It’s pretty funny, so keep reading!
I Played a Trick on My Husband!
by Jane Martin
In this past month of March, I played a trick on my husband, something that I rarely do! You see, my husband has high blood pressure and he loves COFFEE! “De-caffinated coffee tasted bad” said my dear husband!
One day while he was at work, I took the coffee and mixed half regular coffee and half decaffeinated coffee and put them back into the normal coffee tin. A month went by and he never sensed any change in taste and his blood pressure came down by several points.
Then, one day he mentioned to me that he is thinking about switching over to decaf coffee and I said “You are already drinking half decaf.” Pretty sure he thought I was joking at first!!!
Hee-hee, do you feel that glee over playing a joke on your husband? Let me know in the comments what you have done and I promise not to tell your husband. 🙂
Why are some decaf coffee’s better than others? The difference is in the process. Mary & Martha’s decaf coffee is made by the Mexican Chipas Swiss Water Process. Other processes use chemical solvents such as methylene chloride or ethyl acetate to strip caffeine molecules from the green coffee bean. And some leave behind more caffeine than you would think.
The Swiss Water process also uses the GREEN COFFEE BEAN to start with! Did you know that Green Coffee Beans are said to help shed the extra body fat?
(Insert by Kendra, the process of decaffeination is exactly why I wouldn’t ever drink decaf. Knowing that Mary and Martha doesn’t use chemicals to decaffeinate is a wonderful thing! Perhaps I can enjoy coffee while preggers after all!)
So there are the perks of the Mary & Martha decaffeinated coffee! But, I’m not finished yet! Mary & Martha coffee is roasted and to your house WITHIN ONE WEEK! Talk about a fresh flavor pop!
But, the most important thing about Mary & Martha coffee is that it supports a missionary family and their coffee mission project of sharing the Gospel with people and creating jobs for them. There are other coffee companies out there that support gay rights and abortions; why not choose a company that will support Biblical standards?

Kendra here again. Do you have an “I played a trick on my husband” story? Jane and I would love to hear it! And if you would like to read some of the ways my hubby and I have pranked each other, check out this post!
LOOOOOOVE THIS!!! I especially love that they support missionaries!!!
Me too! 🙂
Love your coffee story! We have a similar one. My husband deemed Maxwell House coffee “most disgusting” & proclaimed I should never spend his hard earned money on it. I smiled & asked his opinion on the coffee in his current cup. He said “Perfect. You always make the best.” I sweetly replied, “Thank you, dear! It’s Maxwell House & you’ve been drinking it for 5 yrs!” His face was priceless!!!! LOL
That is funny! Coffee has a lot more to do with how it’s brewed than anything else. Although I have to admit, organic coffee does seem to taste better to me. 🙂
LOL, that is priceless. I hope he forgave you!
I too was always hesitant to drink decaf for the reasons you stated. I would surely not have those concerns about Mary and Martha coffee. I also love that they support both missionaries AND the local economy and people.
Now for the trick – my husband also has high blood pressure. I tell him all the time that I have already salted the food. I haven’t, but he never knows the difference. If he thinks it hasn’t been salted, he just really goes to town.
Oh boy! 🙂 My sister is that way lol. At least she doesn’t have blood pressure problems (yet)
Lynne, I really backed down on the salt too. Some foods are available in lower sodium, I’m trying to learn all of that too!
