Remember when Mary & Martha served Taco Soup.  Well, today we are sharing a recipe for Sopapilla Cheesecake. I’m thrilled to have Jane here again sharing another yummy recipe with 3 simple tips to easy entertaining. Below are her tips and the Sopapilla recipe. (It’s a great vegetarian recipe that uses eggs and tastes simply amazing!)

A simple and delicious recipe for sopapilla cheesecake. Entertaining doens't have to mean a lot of work in the kitchen. Great tips from Mary and Martha!

Jane speaking now: Let me tickle your memory, the Mary & Martha theme is to SIMPLY SERVE others in your home; so that you have time to sit down and LOVE ON OTHERS the way that Christ wants us to.

Lets face it,  we are busy and sometimes we wait and wait and wait until it is the perfect time to have company, often the perfect time never comes.   There are always people to reach out to, loneliness creeps in to many, or maybe circumstances in life has gotten them down.   Reach out to others, SIMPLY!

Does it seem like a big deal to invite friends over? Keep reading for a few simple tips.

Tip #1.   Invite folks over for dessert and coffee, its simple!    Everyone loves dessert!   The Mary & Martha recipe for Sopapilla Cheesecake is easy to make and a hit with guests, always.   Try it, and let me know in the comments what you think!

Recipe for SOPAPILLA CHEESECAKE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (researved)
  • 1 cup sugar
  •  ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  •  ¼ cup honey
  • DIRECTIONS

Grease a 9×12 pan. Layer one can of rolls in bottom. Mix cream cheese,  1 cup of sugar, and vanilla with mixer. Spread on top of rolls. Cover with second can of rolls. Melt butter and pour over top. Sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon. Bake at 350˚ for 30-35 minutes. Drizzle with honey immediately.

And here is Tip #2:  Brew a pot of coffee and serve in special mugs.   Don’t forget to sit down with your guests and LOVE ON THEM!    Do you need special mugs?   Check out Mary & Martha Heirloom Mugs that are graced with Scripture!

Tip #3:  See your guest too the door, give them a hug and wave goodbye as they drive away!

This looks really good…I have had something like this from a restaurant, but never tried to make it on my own. I like these kind of recipes that have a tasty, flaky, crust.

Would love to try the recipe but coming from Australia, I don’t understand the ‘sopapilla’ reference. Also, are the frozen crescent rolls what I call croissants. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks\

Sopapilla is just the name of this desert. And yes, croissants is a another name for crescent rolls 🙂
