I absolutely love thrift shopping and the Salvation Army Family Store in Piqua suits me just fine! After meeting a friend for breakfast, I decided it was time to do some shopping.
I love how the salvation army store prices their clothing. They use five different colored tags and every day, one of the colors are half price. But, on Wednesday all the colors but one, are half price! So Wednesday is the day to go!
Another cool thing is I have found summer to be the best time to find jackets and sweaters, because everyone donates their old ones right around now. So I mostly bought jackets for this fall but still….
Really pretty table cloth and cloth napkins.
Two really cool place mats that I will not be using as place mats. Any guesses as to what I will be making with them?
So here is a picture of my haul, and to think I paid less than $20 for all of it. Score!!!

Hello, my name is Kendra. I am married to an amazing young man
named Jason, whom I lovingly call hubby when I’m writing. The only way I could ever explain our relationship is to use words like: crazy, silly, funny… well you get the point. He’s perfect for me!

Oh, I am a huge thrift shop gal. I don’t get to go as much as I used to though
It was easier when I lived with my parents lol, because they are closer to more of them!
You’ll love this one. Hows this for random? I used to work at the Salvation Army Family store..That’s where I met the hubs ..I started working on a Friday and he started the next wed!

What a great place to work! Unless they are like Goodwill and staff cannot buy any thing there.
Oh Salvation Army was MUCH better than Goodwill..I have worked both. I seriously LOVED working at Salvation army.. I was hired as a cashier but ended up being a floor person and putting things out. They would let us buy things and such it was really relaxed! We could even talk on the phone and listen to ipods while hanging clothes! We didn’t have a minimum of how many racks we had to hang in a day ..it was awesome. Me and the Hubs got laid off 2 weeks before the wedding!
Goodwill thinks you have to hang so many racks in a day. which would be fine..but …they also don’t divide up their staff as far as having a floor person /cashier. They expect you to do it ALL. Try that on a busy day where you don’t get to leave your register longer than 5 minutes at one time..then you get fussed at for not hanging enough racks. Even better? if you were closing and there were racks left you had to stay and hang them before you could go home! Guess who always had to close? ME! Plus I had just gotten married and I wanted to be at HOME with my HUBS ..and he was literally sitting in the car waiting for me for up to 2 hours at a time..would have been amazing if I was full time and it was time n a half..but ..NO!!

I love how people can be so creative like that! I’m way to common sense, meaning if I don’t have a specific plan in mind right away I can’t make myself buy. Of course when I have a plan and need something it is no where to be found lol
You really did score! As soon as I saw the placemats, I thought,”what a cute purse they would make.” I can’t wait to see it.

I love thrift shopping, you can find some great stuff. I’m also a off season shopper too. It is definitely a great time to pick up Fall/Winter items on the cheap.

I loooove thrift shopping too! And I totally agree, now is the time to buy cardigans/sweaters/jackets! I went to the thrift store last week and picked up two blazers for $5! They are soo cute too!
