Sailing in Key West

sailing in Key West

While on vacation we like to experience new things. One was the the time we went sailing in Key West. The other thing we really enjoyed was snorkeling but I could share photos of that. Sooo, we went sailing. Not once, or even twice, but three times!  Admittedly there was a “frequent sail” program that make the second trip cheaper and the third one free, but still, we really enjoyed it. Enough that I am designating a whole post to [...]

Getting to Know You. -Link Up

Pet Rats

Today I am helping Co-Host the Getting to Know You linky-party, with Cat from Stuff I Love! Each week we’ll be posing a series of interview-style questions for you to fill out and link back up.  Feel free to include photos if you’d like – the more creative you get, the more we’ll all get to know about each other.  Each week will have a different theme, so we can learn all about each other.  And, of course, if there [...]

Into the Word Wednesday

First, the inspiration for this post. Jesus is talking about trust.  He says “take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink…” Mat.6:25 Trust is an issue with me. I’ve always had a hard time trusting others.  It’s easier to just depend on myself because I know I can do it.  There is a problem with that, though. Maybe I should say several problems. Number one is the stress. When you try to do [...]

Creating a 3 Dimensional Planter.

3 dimensional planter

So on Tuesday I offered a little teaser to today’s post.   If you are a fan of A Proverbs 31 Wife on Facebook, you would have seen this picture.  What!? You’re not a fan yet? Well you can fix that problem by going right here! I asked my fans to guess what this post would be about, and the best answer was a guess that the raccoons had gotten into my garbage!   Fortunately that was NOT the case. The [...]

Springtime on the Farm

DSCN5400

Growing up on a farm I remember spring as one of my favorite seasons.   The baby animals were the main reason. However, calves and baby chicks are not near as cute as the babies we saw yesterday. Warning, these pictures may cause cuteness overload! These are haired sheep, they shed their coats in the spring and because their tails don’t need cropped they look like goats during the summer. A brand new baby! Aren’t they just too cute! Shy [...]

Seedlings

DSCN5234

So, you’re going to grow a garden, now what? Do you start plants indoors as seedlings or do you go to a garden center to buy all your plants?   Is it more cost effective to start seeds indoors or buy the plants? Well, to begin with, if you want to start your own plants you will need a grow light there are some inexpensive ones you can purchase that work great, but we didn’t buy one. Like most people we have [...]

Springtime!

With spring just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about the garden. Even if you only have room for a very small garden I would still recommend planting one.  If you don’t want to till a garden in your backyard you can do like our neighbor and plant peppers and squash right in your front flower bed!  Or if you are like a friend of mine who lives in an apartment, many plants do well in window boxes. [...]
