The Fair at New Boston

On Sunday afternoon, we went to the Fair at New Boston. If you enjoy historical reenactment, then you would’ve enjoyed this fair. Set from the times of 1790′s to 1810, there was everything from an Indian village, to battle reenactments to the tents that were set up to look like homes of the Pioneers.

Really quite the experience, and there were plenty of merchants to help us spend all of our money!

So here is a photo dump for ya’ll. :)

Homestead Encampments

Weighty Discussions

One thing that made hubby and I laugh was the reenactors who dressed as Indians, were real Indians. However, in order to look like the Indians did int the early 1800′s they made their skin red, face, neck, arms and hand were very red, the feet? They were white!

I didn’t even take pictures of the rest of the food. All of it was made over open fires in the authentic way, and oh so good!!!

Respectful opinions are always welcome

  1. I read about the event @McMaster and Storm a few weeks ago. I don’t think I would have made it living back in the “olden days.” I like creature comforts way too much! LOL

  2. simpler times, definitely…though that pork & beans concoction does look nasty, lol…but i guess if we lived in those times, we wouldn’t know anything different, and we’d probably love it too ;) it looks like it was fun event!
