Time for a pregnancy update??? Sure!
As you can see, baby Stamy is definitely growing!
25 Weeks, What’s Happening
Movement: Lots of it! Around 21 weeks we went through this thing where baby would… well I’m not sure what he was doing but it felt like he was tying my insides into knots. The result was a mommy with an upset tummy. Jason said it was motion sickness on the inside!
Now I’m getting the solid kicks and thumps. Definitely been able to feel it on the outside and see my belly jump at times too! Jason has only felt it twice. Mainly because he puts his hands on my belly and baby goes to sleep. I’m thinking that daddy will be the one to calm fussy baby in the future!
Weight gain: In the past five weeks I’ve doubled my total weight gain. At 20 weeks I had only gained 8 pounds, and at 25 weeks I’ve gained 16 pounds… putting me at 170. Yipes!!!
Growth and Heart Rate: At my last appointment I was measuring right on for my due date of June 12th. Heart rate was a bit different than the time before, measuring at 140-150 which is lower than it was… According to the app. I have on my phone, baby is now 13.5 inches long and weighs about 1.5 pounds. I love being able to see how my baby has grown each week!
Cravings and aversions: Chocolate is again my best friend. 🙂 I haven’t had any true cravings…. And other than the whole pizza thing, I’m not eating anything differently than before I was preggers. Definitely trying to eat healthy, but my sweet tooth has returned with a vengeance. :/
Sleep: Still sleeping okay. I have to pee two or three times during the night, which is actually a good thing. When I don’t drink enough during the day, I don’t wake up to pee and then I end up not feeling well. Sleeping on my back is becoming less and less though, acid reflux is killing me and the back sleeping makes it worse. 🙁
Of course sleeping on my side hurts my hips and then I can hardly get out of bed. Oh, and when I do get out, I walk like an old woman. A very old woman.
Ways I’m trying to prepare for a natural homebirth: Looking at pools for a water birth. Those everlasting kegels, and squats, along with trying to walk more. A monthly chiropractor visit, along side a monthly therapeutic massage. Starting in on the red raspberry tea and trying to drink a large glass (or two) daily.
Gender: Still not going to find out ahead of time. You may notice that I say “he” a lot, but that’s simple because I hate saying “it”. And, I do still think we are having a boy.
Names: We have a few different girl names we really like, but only one boy name. Pretty sure we will need to find more boy names for future babies. 🙂 One of the girl names is rather interesting. It’s the name we would’ve given my youngest brother had he been a girl, and the name Jason would’ve been given he been a girl! Since we both like it as well, who knows…. 🙂
