Oh my goodness! I’m cannot hardly believe that I have reached the 30 week mark, or that there’s only 10 or so weeks left to go! Of course, that means time for a 30 week pregnancy update.
I say about time though, this little one is very active and he/she likes to make my belly jump all over the place. Not too painful, but it really gets old after 15 minutes of it. I mean seriously, don’t he ever get tired?
So what’s new for my 30 week pregnancy update?
Movement: Well, like I said above, there is lots of that. 🙂 I know it’s a sign of a healthy growing baby, so I try not to complain, but well, sometimes…. Pretty sure baby is head down, because most of the movement is up top and even in my ribs. Stay that way little!
Weight Gain: I did pretty good in the past 5 weeks. At 20 weeks I had gained a total of 8lbs, at 25 weeks I had gained another 8lbs, and now at 30 weeks I have added another 4lbs.
Total gained: 20 pounds
Current weight: 174 pounds
All in all, it’s not too shabby, I’m looking at a pound a week on average for the rest of my pregnancy, so we will see. And for those who may have concerns that I’m not gaining enough, I must mention the fat stores that my body would do well to draw from. 😉
Growth and Heart Rate: I’m measuring right on time, and the heart rate is still about 150. According to my pregnancy app little one is 15.7″ and weighs around 2 3/4 pounds. He’s getting bigger for sure!
Cravings and Aversions: No aversions at this point! No big random cravings either, but I will admit to eating ice cream almost every day. 😛 I made some mocha ice cream and added crushed malt-balls for the last bit of freezing and yum yum yummy!
Sleep: What’s that? Oh wait, lol. Sleep is pretty good other than a shrinking bladder and feeling like an old woman when I get out of bed. Still sleeping on my sides or back, which is a blessing. And the acid reflux is mostly gone now too!
Natural Preparations: Trying to drink plenty of my pregnancy tea. I’ve found and ordered a tub and liner for water birth. Continuing monthly chiropractic visits and massages. Haven’t used my exercise ball much because it has a tiny leak and due to an unfortunate accident from when I was a teen, I’m a bit scared of it. Now that warmer weather is coming I’m also hoping to get in some extra walking.
What I’m Excited About: My baby shower! It’s not until the 16th of May, but I’m still pretty pumped about it. Jason and I had so much fun setting up our baby registries. We actually did 2, one at Target, and one at Walmart. We’re not big fans of Walmart, but a lot of people around here don’t want to go 20 minutes away when there is a Walmart right here. So hopefully having a registry at Walmart too will help us avoid the duplicates and stuff we may not need. (because even if I have 3 of the same thing, I always feel so lame returning a gift)
For you mommas, what do you remember about your pregnancies at 30 weeks? Any tips or advice for the next 5 weeks?
You’re looking great!!
You’re looking wonderful! 🙂
Just a totally random thing… your face looks a little puffy compared to other photos and I don’t mean that in a mean/bad sense, just keep an eye on your blood pressure. I’ve had severe pre-eclampsia with 3 babies and that’s always the first sign – swelling and puffiness on the bottom half of your body is fine in pregnancy but top half can be a sign to keep an eye out for anything. Anyway, just a side thing! Hope you have a great rest of pregnancy!! 🙂
It’s a good thing to keep an eye on for sure. I went back and compared that photo to the others, and I’m not sure that my face is any puffier. I’m thinking it may be the angle of the camera and the lighting. My “photographer” was pretty tired and didn’t exactly try different angles 🙂 Usually he does good, but once in awhile…
But preeclampsia with 3 babies is no fun 🙁
You look great. Enjoy every moment of this special time in your life.
You look gorgeous and glowing with health! Can’t wait for the baby to come!!
