35 Weeks and Counting DOWN!

35 weeks! Can I say excited?!?!

I will say so totally ready! In fact some nights I crawl into bed and want to cry because there’s still a month left to go.

Baby Stamy is so active, and because I have lots of fluid, he still has lots of room to move around. No more flutters, and light movements; these movements are strong, and they make my whole belly jump and me squirm. 🙂

In fact I threatened baby with his first spanking (just kidding) if he didn’t get his hind end out of my ribs. lol Actually it was pretty cool, there was no mistaking what that solid bump was, poking out hard just below my ribs.

I’m actually measuring a week or two ahead now, but that’s just due to the extra fluid. Oh well, I guess it’s better to have too much than not enough.

The Hand:

By the way, all moms have experienced this one: The complete stranger making an obvious comment about you being pregnant while that HAND starts feeling all over your belly. Just as if your belly isn’t even a part of your body!

Yeah, it’s weird and annoying. However, the hand hasn’t got to my belly yet. In fact every time someone mentions my obvious condition both of MY hands go to my belly while I smile and agree with their lame statement, at the same time, the hand falters and then pulls back. I mean after all, it would be weird for them, a complete stranger to put their hands over mine right? 😉

Actually, I’ve been thankful that my strategy is working. Not to mention that I’ve been able to respond nicely to lame-o, obvious comments. Sometimes my snarky side can really get the best of me, not to mention the fact that if the hand did land on my belly I would likely swat it off.

It’s hard to be nice and Christlike when there are pregnancy hormones raging.  Can anyone relate?

A brief word about the daddy to be:

I want to put my man up on a little pedestal for a moment.  I often feel like a total failure as a wife right now, I get home from work and have no energy for anything. Suppers haven’t been what they used to be, and the snacks I used to bake for his lunches have been pared down to the easiest ones possible.

Yet, he hasn’t really complained, and if I ask him to do something he does it. I always feel bad asking him to do what I consider my responsibilities, and yet he does them Not as well as I would perhaps, but he does it.

The bible says a good wife is from the Lord. I will say the same thing about a good husband!

On those Grandmas:

My MIL was here for a few days and she came up for dinner one night. She gives me a little onesie like the one she also gave my sister in law (who just had her second). It was so cute and tickled me so much that I told my mom about it next time I was down there.

A sudden whispered consultation happened between my mom and sis, and then suddenly mother hands me a gift bag. Turns out they had found a cute one too! Those grandmas sure know stuff! (and yes, the one is a boy’s onesie, but I would totally put it on a little girl too!)

Randomish Stuff

No outrageous cravings, but sometimes out of nowhere something will sound really good to me. I will eat it once or twice and then it’s something else I want.

At 30 weeks I had gained 20 pounds total and another 5 pounds in the last 5 weeks brings me to 25 pounds gained. Likely the next five weeks will bring on a little more weight, but we will see. All the same, it’s a wonderful sign that baby is growing and doing well!

There’s just 1 week and 1 day until my baby shower. It’s pretty exciting and I’m definitely looking forward to it. Get everything all ready and in place for the arrival of baby!

The birth kit that I should’ve ordered at 32 weeks, did just get ordered, and I have yet to get the rest of my supplies together, or to pack a hospital bag (just in case). Total procrastinator here. 🙁

However, my pool and the liner is here, and I do have some of the essential oils I wanted. I’ve ordered the stuff I need to make baby wash (no way am I using that chemical filled commercial stuff on my baby) and I need to make it up. Recipe for that coming soon! I now have soap nuts now to wash my cloth diapers, and the company will also be sponsoring a giveaway for you guys really soon!!!

Congratulations!! I have never been pregnant, but I am a total touch-me-not and fear people trying to touch me. 🙂 You look great!

Thanks 🙂 I am actually a very touchy person. But complete strangers (especially men) who think it’s okay to rub all over a woman’s belly just annoys me…

This is so exciting! I have been following your blog for a couple of years now, and can’t wait to “meet” your little one. I had a homebirth (no pool though) for my second baby, and it was the most incredible experience. Essential oils, and some honey on a banana when my blood pressure dropped got me through it! Amazing what The Lord has created our bodies to accomplish.

Oh, I’m just finding your site from a linkpalooza. I love it! You have great Godly posts!

Just wanted to share my one & only sweet man touching my preggo belly story … We have a sweet elderly guy in our church who always says ‘Praise the Lord’ – I was 38 weeks & he touched my belly with both hands and said (to my belly) “Jesus Loves You!”
His wife was waving her hands with a worried face mouthing “I’m sorry!!!!”

I teared up and said “Yes HE does!”
I havve two sweet kids & he still says that to them every Sunday (minus touching my belly!)

Awww! Coming from someone you know, it really isn’t an issue. I haven’t minded at all the people I know touching my belly or saying funny things (one guy asked how the twins were coming!). I just have an issue when it’s total strangers.
For that elderly man to bless your child while still in the womb is just precious!
