Big fat hairy audacious dreams are the only ones worth having. These are the dreams that look impossible and probably are impossible.
But they are your dreams and you are going to do everything you can to achieve them, even though the world is shaking their heads.
“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible” ~ Walt Disney
The above quote was my inspiration. Fun to do the impossible. What in my life did I want to do even though it looked impossible? I didn’t have an answer at the time.
In January this year I found my answer.
Jason and I set a year-long goal that looks impossible. The ways life can and possibly will work against our goal are many.
It takes a lot of sacrifice.
It means a lot of self-denial.
It is hard.
It very well may be impossible.
But we are trying. We are willing to sacrifice, to deny ourselves our wants, and we are working hard. And maybe, just maybe, we will actually do the things which looks impossible.
We are 4 months into our year-long goal, and we’ve actually managed to achieve the monthly portion of our goal every month so far.
Our big fat hairy audacious dreams:
To make 2x house payments every single month this year. With the ultimate dream of paying off the rest of our house within 5 years. So we can save a little more and buy our dream home in the country within 7 years.
It is a HUGE dream!
I sometimes shake my head in doubt. We don’t even know if it can be done, but if it can, WE ARE GOING TO DO IT.
Yes. I just typed all caps. Yes, I’m kinda yelling. And no, I don’t care! 🙂
