Last Friday I introduced you to ShapelyGirl Fitness, and shared my plans for getting in shape this month.
Originally I was going to share weight and measurements each week. However, since I’ve been working pretty hard at this, I am kinda scared to get on the scales. You know, when you work so hard for something, and see no results, it’s easy to get discouraged.
So, at this point, I will not be getting on the scales or making measurements until the end of the month. Can anyone else relate to my crazy fear of the scales?
I used the Let’s Get Moving DVD for the first time on Saturday. I took it up to the home I work at and invited the other ladies to do it with me. This is a group home for adults with different forms of Developmental Disabilities. In terms of easy steps and routines, this is a simple work out. The only lady who chose to do it with me was able to keep up and do it along with me. In terms of intensity, she did quit after only 10 minutes, so I finished alone. 🙂
So it’s a simple workout, but it does get your blood pumping and you will feel the buuuurrrn!
I have since used the DVD twice. I’ve also started walking even more. Yesterday I put the little girl I watch in her stroller and walked 20 minutes to McDonalds. I’ve done that before, but on the way back I pushed myself to run three different times for about a minute each time. Harper loved it, she leans forwards and spreads her arms wide, screaming wheeee! My legs were screaming too. But that’s ok 🙂
The above quote is pretty true. Even though my legs hurt from yesterday, I went out for a quick walk this morning before work.
So while I’m not sure if I am losing weight, I am enjoying my attempts to lose!
Want to meet the other ladies on the crew? We have linked up our posts below. You can browse through and read any you wish. We are all shapes, sizes and ages. Your prayers for us will certainly be appreciated.
This list is moderated. Please do not link up unless you are a part of the ShapelyGirl Fitness review crew.
Keep going girl, you have my shouts of Go Go Go!
Well done Kay! And I agree with the “holding on till month end before scale” thing. I believe you will not give up, with God on your side…keep on keeping on!
Have a super blessed week ahead!
Love
Hi – it sure sounds like you are having fun. =D That is a great idea to see if you can have a partner while working out. The other gals may end up losing some weight, having some fun and getting in shape too. You could try setting up a chart and seeing if a visual reminder would spark a little friendly competition with everyone. Maybe a “we walked so many miles” type chart.

Your idea is awesome! Want to know how awesome? We are already using it! 😉
Actually, we are all part of a group on Facebook and each day a photo goes up
that says Bam! I worked it with Debra today! and then we comment on how we did.
Thanks for stopping by.
