Today I am helping Co-Host the Getting to Know You linky-party, with Cat from Stuff I Love!
Each week we’ll be posing a series of interview-style questions for you to fill out and link back up.  Feel free to include photos if you’d like – the more creative you get, the more we’ll all get to know about each other.  Each week will have a different theme, so we can learn all about each other.  And, of course, if there are any questions you don’t feel comfortable answering, go ahead and leave them out.  Here’s how it works:

1) Copy the questions below.

2) Fill them out – be creative, we want to see the real you.

3) Include some photos if you like.

4) Grab the button to share so everyone can link up.

5) Check out a few new people and make some friends!

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!

Getting To Know You #2:  All About Your Hobbies
1) Aside from blogging, what hobbies take up most of your time?
2) What do you consider to be your most unusual hobby?
3) Do you have any hobbies that people might not expect you to?
4) What do you consider to be your greatest hidden talent?
5) Are there any hobbies that your family takes part in together?
6) Has a simple hobby ever lead you to a grand adventure?
7) What is your newest hobby?

8) What is your oldest hobby?

9) Is there a hobby you wishyou had the time or talent for, but it just hasn’t happened?
And my answers:

1) Aside from blogging, what hobbies take up most of your time?

Hmmm,I do tend to spend a bit of time in the kitchen, I love to cook and make a lot of my own recipes, or I tweak the ones I have. I must be doing ok though, because Hubby hasn’t complained yet!

2) What do you consider to be your most unusual hobby?
Not sure if this counts but I certainly enjoy spending time with my pets, 2 of which are rats!Ralph and Stewart when they were little
3) Do you have any hobbies that people might not expect you to?
Well yes, I love to dance. Most peeps never see that side of me, but that is one of my favorite things to do. If I am cleaning the music will be on and I will be dancing around the house as I clean!

4) What do you consider to be your greatest hidden talent?

Not sure if I would call it “hidden” but I have yet to meet a child who didn’t love me.

5) Are there any hobbies that your family takes part in together?

Hubby and I love walking together. On Sundays if we don’t have other things going on, we will often drive to a park and just walk around. Another thing we both enjoy is travel.
6) Has a simple hobby ever lead you to a grand adventure?
Yup. Because we love to travel and because of family, we drove from Ohio to Oregon last summer. There is some beautiful country between here and there.

7) What is your newest hobby?

Blogging!

8) What is your oldest hobby?

Probably paper crafting. I can remember making cards with my mom, when I wasn’t more than 8 yrs old.
9) Is there a hobby you wish you had the time or talent for, but it just hasn’t happened?

I wish the ice rink here was open year around. I usually just start feeling as if I getting good and then skating is over for 9 months.
So go ahead, answer those questions and link up! I would love to get to know you a little better!

How does it work with a cat and mice? We had a hamster and cats a long time ago and they were taught to leave the hamster alone. One time we DID have a mouse in the house and they just looked at it and ignored it, like they had been taught. *sigh*

It started with our first rat which was a baby at the time and the farm cat we brought with us when we got married. We decided it was time to cat and rat to meet, so Hubby held the cat and I held the rat. Nose to nose, theeeennn… the little rat just took a huge bite right out of the cat’s nose! Now we have a different cat and different rats but this cat is just as terrified as the farm cat was.

Hey Melissa 🙂 Most people are not that crazy about rodents so you are not alone. I think hubby enjoys them mostly b/c he gets this huge kick out of letting them ride on his should when we have guests. No wonder our friends never visit any more1

Great post, thanks for co-hosting! Looove the rats – I had pet mice as a kid and they really are great (rats might be a little easier to catch if they got loose, though!). Great to get to know you better!
