Have a vision to succeed.
Proverbs 29:18 states this: “Where there is no vision, the people perish…
Let’s look at that a bit. What happens if there is no vision? The people perish. Obviously we are all going to “perish” at some point, but I believe what that verse is referring is the perishing of the mind. The going through your day-to-day duties without meaning. Working. Putting money in the bank. Taking money out of the bank to pay bills. Trying to amuse oneself however they can. Vegging in front of the TV or killing time on Facebook. No meaning. No goals. Just living.
If that really how we want to be?
I want a vision. I want to have a vision to succeed.
Keep in mind that all visions are not equal, and all visions may not be according to God’s plan for you. Pray about where you see your life going, and ask God if that is where he wants you to be.
Not all visions are world changers. Some are small and effect only you. Others effect your family, and still others can effect the world.
Talk to your heavenly father. Ask him for a vision. Ask him to guide your footsteps. And when he gives you a vision, ask him to make a way for you.
I have dreams. Visions of being a Godly Wife, visions of becoming a mother, visions of raising children to the honor and glory of God. A vision to become a stay at home wife/mom.
Those visions give me direction.
- I want to become a Godly wife; where do I look for instruction? The bible first, and then other books from authors I trust.
- I want to raise Godly children. Again, I go to the bible, to God, and I also read a lot of books on parenting.
- I want to be a stay at home wife. There are two ways I’m working on that. The first way is by being frugal, the second way, is by blogging and selling Lilla Rose.
Then other factors figure in. I start to ask myself “will going out with my girl friends make me a better wife?” Do these friends encourage me as a wife, or do they discourage me,”
I look at movies, and wonder if I would want my daughters watching them. I look on my bookshelves and ask if I would want my children to read those books.
I see a pair of shoes I would love, but I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to save that money because I don’t need shoes. When I go to make a big purchase, I am asking myself it that purchase is really worth it.
When you have a vision to succeed, it becomes your focus. Everything you do, becomes a step towards your vision. So make sure your vision is a Godly vision.

Very good post, Kendra, very good post! My husband and I took Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University course, and it has definitely given us vision, placed us on the same page financially, and given us a plan of action.
