I don’t know about you, but when I set clear, defined health goals, I find it far easier to make healthy choices and reach my goals. Walgreens is using their balance rewards program to help me do that.
I don’t know about you, but making healthy choices has its own rewards for me. However, if a program like Balance Rewards is going to reward me for making healthy choices, well I’m all about it!
How can you get rewarded to make healthy choices with Balance Rewards?
Sign into your Balance Rewards account at Walgreen’s, put your mouse over the Health Info & Services on the menu bar and then slide your mouse down to the Balance Rewards for healthy choices line. Click.
You can create your profile, set goals, connect devices and apps and earn rewards. Your connected devices send the data right to your BR dashboard and you can also enter the info straight from the site. And of course, you can always use your Walgreen’s app!
You earn 250 points for connecting your first device and for setting your first goal. Then earn 20 points each for mile walked, a daily weigh-in, blood pressure reading and blood sugar reading.
Someday we hope to live in the country, but city living has some great perks as well, especially when it comes to exercising. There are basketball and tennis courts in the park, beautiful hiking trails, several nature preserves, an aquatic center for summer, and an ice rink for fall. So, whether you go for walking running, biking, swimming, skating or sports, there truly are many ways to stay fit in the city.
Jason and I really enjoy walking and hiking on the weekends, but many times our weekends are quite full. I got to thinking that I really should be walking more during the week. Especially since I have baby weight to lose.
The kids I watch also enjoy going on walks. So we try to take a walk 3 times a week. I set my weekly goal for a certain number of miles and then log them. Since I have certain routes I normally take when walking I enter those routes once and then save them, so the next time I just select my route and we are good to go!
When Jason and I walk around town and Kolton rides in his stroller. But when I’m at work, Kolton rides in his wrap and the 4 year old and 1 year old ride in the double stroller. Sometimes the 4 year old will walk/run and burn off a bit of energy, which suits me just fine. 🙂
Trust me, the best way to calm the kids down is to take them for a walk. 🙂 Of course, if it’s really hot out, a walk wouldn’t help so we stay inside. This summer has been great for walking and I’m taking advantage of it!
Being active is a very important part of living a healthy lifestyle. And we all know that children copy those that they are around. So it was pretty fun to see how the four year old played when we got home from our walk one day. The lighting was terrible and my phone isn’t the greatest camera, but you can see her wearing one baby while pushing the other in the stroller!
The 4 year old goes to preschool 3 times a week and it’s a 15 minute walk to get there. Needless to say I would much rather walk than have to load the babies into their carseats for a 5 minute car ride out and back again. So I am able to get in a nice amount of walking at least three times a week. And of course I make sure that gets logged into my balance rewards dashboard. Like I’ve said before, I LOVE rewards programs!!!!
And what if the weather don’t allow you to get out and walk? Try a dance party, kids love that!
My girls and I have tons of impromptu dance parties! You’re right, it’s a lot of fun and you really do get a workout in! What a fun way to earn Balance Rewards point doing something you love! #client
