Virgin Coconut Oil-Non-Food Uses

Did you know, coconut oil can be used for more than just food?  Recently I have been trying a few different ways to use virgin coconut oil besides in cooking/baking.

Non-food uses for virgin coconut oilDisclaimer: There are referral links on this page, if you are a new customer to Tropical Traditions and place an order after using my referral link, you will receive a free book and I will receive a coupon.

Here are a couple of my favorite non-food uses for virgin coconut oil!

  1. Hair Serum: When my hair is damp, I put a few drops in my hands, rub them together a bit and then starting at the base of my head under the hair, I run my hands through my hair. It leaves my hair soft and a little shiny. I don’t usually touch the very front of my head/hair, just in case the oil is to thick on my hands. Don’t want to leave things greasy. 🙂
  2. It works great for eye make -up remover! Doesn’t sting a bit.
  3. As a teen my nails were weak and brittle, so I mixed a couple drops of Tea-Tree Oil with a tablespoon of Coconut Oil, and massaged it into my nails and cuticles daily. I noticed after time they grew much stronger. I stored it in an old lip balm container.
  4. Speaking of lips. For kids who hate regular lip balm because it may sting, coconut oil is awesome!
  5. Mix coconut oil with sugar for an amazing sugar scrub for your feet. Again, I add a bit of Tea Tree oil as well, for it’s antiseptic qualities.
  6. For married couples….. (don’t mix with latex)
  7. And finally, one I want to try; Coconut Oil Toothpaste.

So, I know there are a lot of uses for coconut oil out there. But those are my favorite non-food uses for coconut oil.

Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil - gallon.I use Tropical Tradition’s  Virgin Coconut Oil!

Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?

You can also watch the video they produced about Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil:

Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online. Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.

Seriously!! Tropical Traditions is an awesome company to give away this big of a tub! I just received my 32 oz jar from the last giveaway you did. If they can see this comment, I would like to thank them also. Their stuff is so high quality. I would love to enter this, but feel it wouldn’t be fair since I won last time. Good luck to everyone else though!

Kendra- these are great tips. I Love tea tree oil, as you know hehe. So I will be glad to try these. I had already planned on using my oil for hair and skin, as well as internally. I may make a scalp treatment for healthy hair with this, and some tea tree and lavender oil.
