In January of 2014, 10 other bloggers and I set out on a journey. We desired to create something of value for today’s woman but wasn’t sure where to start.
None of us felt qualified to write a devotional centered around the woman in Proverbs 31, but that’s exactly where the Lord led us. We started out by listing each verse and the corresponding virtue, then each of us chose the verses/virtues we felt most led to write about.
We learned a lot along the way. We learned that perhaps we weren’t so different from the woman in proverbs 31 after all. Each of us possessed many of her virtues already and we each discovered virtues we would like to add into our own lives.
This is our story: Set Apart: Becoming a Virtuous Woman in a Modern World.
Set Apart: Becoming a Virtuous Woman in a Modern World
Set Apart is a 28 day study on the Proverbs 31 Woman. Each day you will discover a new virtue and learn how you can both find and grow that virtue in your own life.
It’s not an impossible mountain to climb, nor is it an uncrossable river. Becoming a woman of virtue is one step, one stroke, at a time. That is why our book covers one virtue at a time, pausing to give you time to reflect and grow as you apply these virtues to your life.
Personally, this is a subject dear to my heart (thus the title of my blog!), and becoming a woman of virtue is my greatest desire. Working together with this lovely team of bloggers taught me a lot about the Proverbs 31 Woman, and a lot about myself.
My prayer is to inspire, uplift, and greatly encourage you in your own walk as a virtuous woman after reading this book.
Written as a 4 week study, Set Apart comes with a companion work book. Use this workbook to journal each virtue and list ways to nourish it in your own life.
Covered Virtues:
Noble Honorable Resourceful
Strong Excellence Industrious
Skillful Blessed Charitable
Wise Willing Supportive
Modest Prepared Trustworthy
Devoted Productive Praiseworthy Diligent Confident Good Steward
Fears the Lord
As a collective group, we agreed on a few devotionals that we would share on our blogs to give you an idea of the heart we had while writing this book.
She Will Laugh at Days to Come ~Sarah Nichols
She Does Him Good ~Kendra Stamy
Respected in the City Gates ~Crystal Hatcher
Her Children Call her Blessed ~Virginia George
Included with this devotional are 3, full-size 8×10 printables, and a set of corresponding virtue cards that can also be printed.
Print out the study guide and use it with your devotional. Print out the 8×10 printables and display them in areas of your home to constantly encourage and uplift you.
Print out the verse card set, laminate it and reference it over and over. Choose a new card to meditate upon daily, long after you’ve finished the devotional.
Sometimes being able to hear the authors thoughts about a book can really give you insight to what you are reading. Considering that, most of the authors are sharing their thoughts below.
Are you Ready? Ready to discover and nourish the virtues you already own? Set Apart is available in PDF format, to read on your computer or transferred to your e-reader.
