Last Friday was my baby shower, fun fun! Right? To be real honest that’s all I could think about that week. 🙂 I had made myself stop buying anything for the baby because I wanted a good selection of stuff on my registry for people to choose from.
My sweet cousin who already has a little girl of her own (1 year old) asked if she could plan my shower. Obviously I wasn’t going to say no. 😉 So we figured out a date and time, and then I didn’t hear too much else from her. I asked if I could help and she said they had it all under control. So when I arrived at my shower Friday night it was all pretty awesome!
The theme she went with was “What will Baby Bee?” it was super cute and all the yellow and black accents were awesome! In fact it made me think of my yellow and grey baby room. 🙂
What will Baby Bee?
Crystal along with her sister and a couple other cousins and friends put together a such a fun shower. The water had yellow lemons (of course!) floating in it. There were jars with black and yellow gumballs and black and yellow candy coated chocolates. The yellow flowers were soooo bright and cheery, and then there were the cupcakes.
Oh yes, the cupcakes! I’m guessing Crystal and Kaylee spent several hours making the cutest little bees ever. They used a lemon jelly bean, two almond slivers, and black icing to create these adorable little guys. Then they plopped them on top of the cupcakes. 🙂
Of course, they also did something super cute for the wall behind the table where I sat.
I was overwhelmed at the amount of people who showed up or sent well wishes, it’s such a blessing to live in a community of people who love and care for each other as we do. I am so thankful that our child can be a part of this as well.
Aunts and cousins on my dad’s side of the family went in together and bought the stroller I wanted. It is the Little Hoot print from Graco 😉 and several other people went in together and bought the pack-in-play, it matches the stroller. 🙂
I didn’t ask for clothes because the the lady I nanny for is giving me hers. The little girl was born in June, and the little boy was born in July so we are good either way. 🙂 Not to mention we have similar tastes in clothing.
Of course there were homemade gifts which are always so special because of the time the giver puts into them, and the many other little things I didn’t think to ask for. I think the registries screwed up a little bit at times because I did get a couple duplicates of stuff, but that’s not a big deal.
So of course I took the gift cards and cash along with the few doubles to town the very next day…. Probably not smart, because by the time we got home I was so tired and sore from all that shopping. And of course I couldn’t just sit and relax when we got home. Oh no! I washed up the clothing and blankets, washed up the feeding stuff, unpackaged my other gifts, hooked up the baby moniter and who knows what all else!
I cannot, cannot wait for this little child to arrive! If you want to see more of my What will baby bee” shower photos, you can just click the ones below and they will show up larger for you.
- What will it bee? sign in potted grasses
- Strawberries and cupcakes!
- My cousins who helped. The one in the red sweater is due with her first in October so it really fun. In fact this year at Christmas there will be 4 ’14 babys. Jan, Jun, Sept, and Oct! So much fun!!!
- Momma to bee wall decor. Super cute!
- A couple people made hooded towels for our little one. They are simple to do and I think they hold up better than the premade hooded towels.
- My sweet sis, making sure I will remember who gave what. 🙂
- Mother bought me a very cool high chair that you strap to a regular chair, she made me some bibs as well, and the little paci clip which I am trying to unhook 🙂
- I have to pack a just-in-case hospital bag and this little sleeper is going in it for a going home outfit if we have a boy.
- In a whimsy room with birdies, I suppose the owl just fits. At any rate I wanted to buy it the minute I saw it and Jason was the voice of reason saying to put it on my registry. If I hadn’t felt so big and fat, I could of done a happy dance when I unwrapped this one. 🙂
