For today’s post I am focusing on Marriage again. 🙂
In Genesis 1:27 we read; “So God created man in his own image.” If we are to take that as it sounds, man was created like God. Not as God, but like him. Man, in the perfect image of God. He took this lump of clay and formed man like himself, then he breathed himself, the breath of life, into man.
What happened when God took a rib from Adam to make Eve? Now man is no longer the perfect image of God. Woman has part of that image. The woman created for the man, and the man created in God’s image for God. This is all part of God’s plan.
Let’s look at some attributes of the man:
Leader
Protector
Provider
Strong
Now, let’s look at some attributes of the woman:
Romantic 🙂
Caring
Gentle
Loving
What happens when we put these attributes together? We have a Romantic Leader, a Gentle Protector, and a Caring Provider who is Strong and Loving.
Who does that sound like? God!
Romantic Leader:
Song of Solomon 2:10-13 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.Gentle Protector:
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 17:8 …Hide me under the shadow of thy wing. Matthew 23:37 …How often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen gathereth her chicks under her wings…Caring Provider
1Peter 5:7 Casting all your cares upon him, for he careth for you. Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me…Strong:
Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 29:11 The Lord will give strength to his people; the lord will bless his people with peace.Loving:
Jeh 31:3 Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: there-for with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. John 15:9-10 As the Father hath loved me. so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept the Father’s commandments and abide in his love.No longer is man the perfect image of God, but man and woman together can be. A Godly man plus a Godly woman equals the character of God. The woman was created for the man. When a husband and wife, are truly seeking God and living for Him TOGETHER, then our marriage can show the world, the true image of God!
